LUDAP.lu: A Centralised Reference for Luxembourg’s Heritage

We are pleased to welcome you to the LUDAP, the Shared Authority Data File for Luxembourg's Cultural and Scientific Heritage.

LUDAP serves as a collaborative platform designed to provide unique, reliable, and interoperable reference data. By harmonising information from Luxembourg’s state heritage institutions, LUDAP offers a single "source of information" for the people who have contributed to the nation's cultural and scientific legacy.

A Growing National Resource

In this initial phase, the platform focuses specifically on deceased individuals with strong ties to Luxembourg’s heritage. Our objective is to facilitate research by providing standardised entry points to the diverse collections held across our partner institutions.

While the current database is already a robust resource, LUDAP will continue to evolve. We intend to make groups and organisations available as well as relevant historical geographic places.

A Collaborative Effort

LUDAP is governed by a cooperation of eight national heritage institutions under the Luxembourg Network of Expertise on Digital Cultural Heritage, supported by the the Ministry of Culture:

  • Archives nationales de Luxembourg (ANLux)
  • Bibliothèque nationale du Luxembourg (BnL)
  • Centre national de l'audiovisuel (CNA)
  • Centre national de littérature (CNL)
  • Institut national pour le patrimoine architectural (INPA)
  • Institut National de Recherches Archéologiques (INRA)
  • Musée national d'histoire et d'art (MNAHA)
  • Musée national d’histoire naturelle Luxembourg (MNHNL)
