Launch of the Dataset on the Public Data Portal

We are pleased to announce the launch of LUDAP.lu's open dataset on data.public.lu. The LUDAP makes accessible a valuable and continually growing resource comprising over 1,000 authority records dedicated to individuals significant within Luxembourg’s cultural and scientific heritage.

The decision to share our authority data has been a catalyst for enhanced collaboration within our national cultural heritage institutions. This shared openness reflects our core open data strategy, which has enabled all eight member institutions to facilitate the sharing, modification, and reuse of their data.

With this transition to public availability, the entire dataset is now freely available for external reuse by any third party under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) Public Domain Dedication license.

We encourage the broad reuse of the LUDAP dataset, and have detailed various access methods—suited for both human users and machine processing—on the Luxembourg government's open data platform at data.ludap.lu. Further information regarding this publication can be found here.

This milestone has been warmly received by the platform itself, as documented in this announcement (available in French).
